Leroy ‘Tommy’ Kitchen
1948-2024

Leroy “Tommy” Kitchen, 76, of Naugatuck, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home.

He was born May 2, 1948, in Octavia, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Clarence and Irene Lafferty Kitchen.

He is preceded in death by his in-laws, Raymond and Lucille Ooten; four siblings, George Kitchen, Rudy Kitchen, Linda Hall and Betty Jane; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tommy was a retired coal miner from Kermit Coal and a deacon of the Maher Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Diana L Ooten Kitchen of Naugatuck; children Austin (Skyler) Kitchen of Naugatuck, Star (Gordy) Wallace of Belfry, Tomi Leigh (Josh) Stacy of Naugatuck and Jessica (Darren) Hurst of Lenore. Tommy also leaves behind his grandchildren, Hayden and Baylee (Corey Savage) Hurst, Riley and Reagan Stacy; two great-grandsons, Asher Layne Kitchen and Tucker Hayes Savage; great-granddaughter Indie Grey Hager; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Nov. 27, 2024, at the Maher Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Martin officiating. Burial followed at the Troy Maynard Cemetery at Cabwaylingo Park. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
