Resident calls for justice

PILGRIM — The quiet of Pigeon Roost was shattered over the weekend. On Monday residents discovered the community park’s field ripped apart, the grass and dirt shredded by reckless drivers performing “donuts.”
The destruction left locals frustrated and calling for accountability.
“This is what we’ve got on Wolf Creek—people with not enough sense not to tear up things,” fumed Rainbow Jude, a lifelong resident. Gesturing at the damage, he added, “They just want to destroy everything.”
Martin County facilities supervisor Eric Phelps was still piecing together details of the incident.
“I’ll be talking to the sheriff’s office to see if they’ve got leads on the culprits and what action can be taken,” Phelps said.
He also floated the idea of bolstering security at the park.
“We need to identify who’s behind this, and maybe they can help repair the damage—either with money or hours of labor.”
For locals like Jude, catching the vandals is not just about repairs; it is also about accountability.
“We need to find out who they are, take them to Mommy and Daddy and let them have a ball,” he said.
The park, a vital gathering space for Wolf Creek residents, now faces the need to bounce back.
