Mingo deputies launch ‘Shop With A Deputy’ program

CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — The Mingo County Deputy Sheriffs Association (MCDSA) is gearing up to brighten the holiday season for local children through its annual “Shop With A Deputy” program.

Deputies will stand outside at locations throughout the county from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 collecting donations to support the program.

This initiative’s success depends on the dedication of MCDSA members and the generosity of the great citizens of Mingo County.

The program partners with Mingo County elementary schools, identifying children in grades K-5 who can benefit. Then the program takes these children to Walmart where each spends $100.

One hundred percent of the donations go directly to the children.

Anyone can support this cause by mailing or delivering a check to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department. Make checks payable to Mingo County Deputy Sheriffs Association and write “Shop With A Deputy” on the memo line.

Mail donations to Mingo County Sheriff’s Department, PO Box 1270, Williamson, WV 25661.
