The Lady Cardinals (8-16) softball team played four games over the span of six days while going 0-4.

The May 10 game against the Belfry Pirates (16-9) saw an extra inning after the Cards lost the lead late in the game. The next night spelled defeat as Pikeville (17-11) scored 15. The Lady Cards traveled to West Carter Thursday to hold it close for a final score of 3-9 and Fairview would pull away 3-6 Saturday.

Below is a recap of last week’s action.

Belfry vs. MC

The Cards took a commanding lead over Belfry early in the contest 5-1. Brittany Thompson sent one down the third baseline for a single. Skyla Messer stepped up to the plate and bunted for a single and advanced the runner to third. Hannah Stacy singled on a line drive that snuck between the first and second basemen. Her hit saw two runners touch home plate. With the bases loaded, Bella Muncy cranked one to left field to see another runner come in. Keilan Jewell and Thompson would be hit by pitches to score two more.
