Gene A. Fields
1942—2024

Gene A. Fields, age 82, of Pickerington, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Pickerington Methodist Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 7, 1942, in Inez, Kentucky, to the late Sherman and Lucille (Stepp) Fields, he was one of seven children, creating many memories with his large family.

In addition to his parents, his wife of 57 years, Eva Jean Fields, preceded him in death in 2023. He is also preceded in death by brothers Edward, Everett and Franklin Fields and sisters Thelma Welch and Marjorie Fields.

Gene was a graduate of Warfield High School in Warfield, Kentucky, and was retired from the 7UP Company. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Pataskala United Methodist Church for many years.

Gene is survived by sons Matt (Debbie) Fields and Mark Fields; grandchildren Naomi Fields, Tori Fields and Alexis Fields; sister Lois Parsons; special niece Paula Porter and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at noon at Pataskala United Methodist Church, 458 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio, with the Rev. Charlene Mitchell officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Columbus, Ohio.
