LANGLEY — Infinity Design & Construction, a provider of 3D scanning, design and construction services, is expanding its operations to Floyd County, Gov. Andy Beshear announced Friday. The company plans to open a facility in Langley, bringing 36 high-wage jobs in welding and pipe fabrication using a $1.75 million investment.
“I want to thank the company’s leadership and am excited to see this expansion into Floyd County bring even greater success,” Beshear said.
Infinity, which operates a fabrication shop in LaGrange, plans to open the new location on 7.5 acres to meet growing demand. The 43,850-square-foot facility will allow for increased production.
Keith McKinney, an executive at Infinity, praised local officials and organizations for their support, particularly during the company’s collaboration with Local 248.
“The exceptional work ethic of the Eastern Kentucky workforce has been a standout,” McKinney said. “Expanding into Eastern Kentucky is a natural progression for our team, and we’re excited about broadening our operations in this region.”
The company, founded in 2013, brings over 75 years of combined experience in commercial and industrial piping and is signatory to Local 502 of the Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Service Technicians.
Colby Kirk, One East Kentucky CEO, shared his excitement.
“Infinity is a good company and one of their owners is from Eastern Kentucky (Magoffin County),” Kirk said. “When I first met with them, they never once asked for everything for free like so many others do when looking at our area. I’m glad we were able to play our part at One East Kentucky in helping connect them with financing to purchase their new property and applying for state tax incentives. I look forward to watching them grow.”
Ben Collier, business manager of UA Local 248, commented on the significance of the investment for the region, noting it will allow Eastern Kentucky to become a producer of piping spools for local and national projects.
“For too many years, we’ve been on the importing end of piping spools,” Collier said. “This investment will allow our members to produce these products locally and export them to other regions. We welcome Infinity’s commitment to providing livable wages and benefits to our workforce.”
Wages are expected to average $41.50 per hour plus unionized healthcare and pension benefits.
