Eugene Justice Jr.
1960—2024
Eugene Justice Jr., 64, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away peacefully Sept. 30, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington.
Born April 19, 1960, he was the beloved son of the late Eugene Justice and Lula (Brewer) Justice, who survives him.
He is also preceded in death by his nephew, Charlie Sammons.
In addition to his mother, survivors include Eugene’s loving wife of 44 years, Jessie (Collie) Justice; his daughter and the light of his life, Dawn (Andy) Johnson of Crum; two cherished grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Tyler Johnson (baby boy) and Kaylee Johnson (little sweet cheeks) both of Crum; his sis and best buddy, Lisa (Johnny) Salmons of Kermit; a special nephew he loved like his own, Jon-Jon (Sheree) Salmons of Fort Gay; great-niece Paislynn Salmons of Fort Gay; great-nephew Kayson Salmons of Fort Gay. Additional survivors include sisters-in-law Linda (Danny) Crum of Stepptown and Judy (Charles) Sammons of Crum; brothers-in-law Larry (Hazel) Collie and Gary (Kim) Collie, both of Fort Gay; nephews Danny Crum of Gainesville, Georgia, Chris Crum of Colfax, North Carolina, Joseph Collie, JB Collie and Cole Collie, all of Fort Gay, Jason Sammons of Las Vegas, and Tanner Collie of Louisa, Kentucky; nieces Bethany Ramey and Hayley Collie, both of Fort Gay, and Tonia Fowler of Greensboro, North Carolina; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Eugene will be remembered for his kindness, warmth and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Cabell Huntington ICU and the cardiac stepdown unit for their love, comfort and care during this difficult time.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Kermit Freewill Baptist Church, with Walter Marcum officiating. Burial followed at the Williamson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
