MILWAUKEE — Linda Preece says she was “proud to represent the Preece family name” on the national stage at the 2024 Republican National Convention held July 15-18 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
The convention was a proud moment for Preece and a significant for Republicans across the country.
Preece is a direct descendant of the Daniel Boone Preece line and daughter of Ashley Ray Preece, who lived in Beauty and graduated from Warfield High School. She resides in Essex, Maryland, and was one of three delegates representing Maryland’s 2nd Congressional District.
Preece received an impressive 30,359 votes in the Republican primary to earn her position at her first-ever convention.
The national stage offered Preece many memorable moments. One was seeing former President Donald J. Trump attend every night despite Trump recovering from an injury.
“I believe his attendance uplifted his spirits, especially as the crowd showed him so much love and support,” she said. “Most nominees only attend one night.”
Another highlight for Preece was meeting and speaking with several notable figures in the Republican Party, including Senator Ted Cruz, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and House Speaker Michael Johnson.
She noted that prayer was prominent during each evening of the event.
