KERMIT, W.Va. — Get your weekend plans in gear because the 2024 Kermit Fall Festival is here, and it is packed with live music, a parade, carnival fun and a lineup of attractions—all for free.

This year’s fest takes things up a notch with an 80-foot zipline, rock climbing wall, inflatables, indoor gaming, a mechanical bull, and an obstacle course sponsored by WHWC. Expect health booths, free blood pressure checks, games, vendors and informational setups, too.

Things officially rev up Friday evening with the popular Cruise-in & Car Show, kicking off at 5 p.m. at Kermit City Hall’s parking lot. This event is always a crowd-pleaser, drawing both participants and spectators. Anyone needing the details can contact Ralph Parsley at 304-393-4625.

Saturday’s main event schedule starts early with the Peggy Moore Memorial Run/Walk at 8 a.m. at the Medicine Cabinet. Then, at 11:30 a.m., the parade takes over. Teams, churches, local organizations, beauty queens and high school bands—everyone’s invited.

Parade lineup begins at 11 a.m. at the car wash, with the route winding down Mingo Avenue, onto Route 52 and back again.

For the festive people, SXS and golf carts decked out with fall-themed decorations will be judged on the spot during the parade, with first- and second-place awards announced after.

Live music kicks off at noon with the Donovan Blevins Band, followed by Jack Ward & The Postmen at 3 p.m.

Bring your own chair, sit back and enjoy.

Vendors can set up either Friday evening or Saturday morning but should call ahead to lock in their location. Reach Kermit City Hall at 304-393-2655.
