INEZ — The Martin County High School football team is the Tommy’s Auto Sales Players of the Week.
After starting the Harvest Fest Bowl on Friday the 13th down 19-0 to the Paintsville Tigers, the tides began to turn for the Cardinals.
Down 26-8 with 36 seconds left in the third quarter, Martin County battled back behind touchdowns from Devan Maynard, Parker Watts and Julian Stafford.
The defense stepped up in key moments with interceptions from Brayden Estep and Crayson Lafferty. The Cardinals held the Tigers in the final seconds to seal the deal for a 34-32 win.
The team passed for 159 yards and rushed for 134 on the evening.
