1948—2024

Fredia Messer, 76, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home Sept. 2, 2024.

Fredia was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Wayne County, West Virginia, to the late May Salmons and Everett Dillon.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Marlene; brother, Albert Dillon; sisters, Gladys Marcum and Helen Miller; grandson, Steven Ray Messer; and sons-in-law, Sam Salmons and Grady Fannin.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Fredia is survived by her husband, Donald Messer; daughters, Susie (Ray Jr.) Messer, Virginia (Ron Blizerd) Muncy, Deborah (Lincoln Bragg) Salmons and Renee Fannin; sisters, Alice Spaulding, Sarah Spaulding, Bell Messer and Carol Howard; grandchildren, Sam (Jessica) Salmons, Crit Muncy, Heather (William Jo) Brewer, Veronica Fannin and Grady (Sydney) Fannin; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Glen Messer officiating. Burial followed at the Messer Cemetery on Messer Hollow. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
