WARFIELD — Multi-sport athlete Annaleigh Davis scored her 500th middle school career point on Aug. 27 on her home floor. The Cards handily defeated Magoffin County 43-12.

Kennedy Mills pulled down six boards in the first quarter and scored a basket. Davis jumped on the board quickly with a jumper that put her in the 500-point club.

Lexi Cline continued her hot shooting from previous games and poured in three buckets in the opening stanza. The Cards turned up the defense for a 10-2 first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Cline led all scorers with 14 points, including two 3-pointers. Davis finished her historic night with eight points.

Emily Mills and K. Mills each finished with four points on the night.

Bri Muncy, Anna Hinkle, Zoe Sammons, Alivia Stacy, Harleigh Maynard, and Sammi Byrd all joined in on the action with a bucket each.

The Lady Cards were scheduled to host Adams last night. Details were not available at press time.

They will travel to take on a talented Betsy Layne squad Thursday at 6 p.m. Martin County narrowly escaped the Bobcats 29-26 earlier this season.
