Candie Lynn Preece
1962—2024
Candie Lynn Preece, age 62, of Wolf Creek, Martin County, went to be with her Lord on Aug. 21, 2024, at her home.
Born May 17, 1962, in South Williamson, Pike County, she was the daughter of the late Estel Preece and Mary (Dials) Curry. Candie was the granddaughter of the late Elder Willis and Janie (Moore) Dials of Coldwater Road, Inez, and the late Phillip Preece and Mary Belle Davis of Wolf Creek.
Candie is survived by one son, Arter Buddie (Harmony) Ball; grandchildren Natasha (Anthony) Barnard, Adriana Ball, Gabriel, Luna-Rain Ball and Arter Buddy Ball; great-grandchildren Daylan Livingston, Annie Jay Livingston and Kinley Barnard, all of Cosby, Tennessee. Five sisters and three brothers also survive her: Deborah (Gene Brewer) Dials of MaCombs of Michigan, Tammy (Leslie) Marcum of Crum, West Virginia, Sandy Preece of Columbus, Ohio, Sissy (Robbie) Whitt of Pilgrim, Tonya (Frank Salmons) Reed of Columbus, Ohio, Eric (Michelle) Brown of Crum, West Virginia, and Lonnie Ray (Charlene) Jude of Pilgrim.
Candie also leaves behind a host of uncles and aunts: Paul (Mattie) Davis of Wolf Creek, Lilly Mae (Darrell) Young of Inez, Joyce Kay Pauley of Wolf Creek, Ina Ruth (Donald) Hall of Prestonsburg, Doris (Bill) Evans of Naugatuck, West Virginia, Beatrice (Pie) Dials of Crum, West Virginia, Jimmy (Barbara) Dials of Kermit, West Virginia, Avonell (the late Sam) Dials of Coldwater Road Inez, and Billy Dials of Lovely. Candie had a special niece and nephew she loved and thought of as if they were her very own children, Cierra and Kendal Kirk, as well as a huge family. She also thought highly of her family in Tennessee: Kim, Jay and Nolan.
Candy loved each and every one. She loved her family and friends more than her words could ever explain. If she was your friend, you could count on it; she had your back. No matter what, she was backing you.
She will be greatly missed and forever loved here on this earth and will be forever in our hearts. We will always remember her bright, beautiful smile and happy laughter.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, in the Crum Funeral Home chapel in Inez with Robbie May officiating. Burial followed at the family cemetery in Pilgrim. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
