LOUISVILLE — Martin County’s 6-foot-4 freshman Maci Maynard made a strong impression at the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase in Louisville. She finished as one of the top performers among more than 120 participants.

Steve Quattrocchi, a scout covering the event, praised Maynard’s performance: “Martin County’s @maynard_maci55 is the tallest prospect at camp today and is nearly automatic when she gets a clean post touch. She knows how to use her position to get open.”

Kentucky Premier raved about Maynard, referring to her as “unstoppable” in the post: “She is a legit 6’4” center that has no problem getting up and down the floor. I was truly in awe of her size and skill. She showed soft hands when receiving the entry pass and was automatic scoring at the rim. Maci did a good job keeping the ball high and used her size and strength to gain ideal position for rebounds on both ends.”

Lady Cards head coach Robin Newsome highlighted Maynard’s dedication and potential.

“Maci has worked on her game all summer and is a member of the most elite AAU team in the state with Kentucky Premier Team Nike,” Newsome said. “She can be as good as she decides to be. She has all the tools and is an even greater person and teammate. Maci excels not only on the floor but in the classroom.”
