James Arthur (Jimmy) Sorenson Jr.
1966—2024
James Arthur (Jimmy) Sorenson Jr. left this life very suddenly Aug. 16, 2024, from a massive heart attack.
He was born Jan. 10, 1966, in Chicago. For many years he lived in Columbus, Ohio, with his parents. He had recently moved to 92 Ratliff Town Road, Louisa, Kentucky. While living in Columbus, Ohio, he was a hairdresser for many years. After his move to Ratliff Town in July of this year he was the happiest we had all seen him in years. He had finally made his peace with God, and it showed in his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Arthur Sorenson Sr. and his mother, Olga Mae (Ratliff) Sorenson. He did not have any siblings.
James leaves behind his “children,” as he called them, nine Chihuahuas and some Jack Russell mixes, and two pups just born. They are all up for adoption.
James had some very special aunts and first cousins who were like mothers to him and cousins like brothers and a sister. Alice, John, Robert, Dwayne and Cheryl took care of his needs after his parents passed. His aunt Julie Ratliff was also very special to him.
Jimmy just loved his family. If you were a Ratliff, he loved you. He will be so missed by all his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We request your prayers. James was laid to rest in the Ratliff Family Cemetery in Ratliff Town on Route 3 beside his parents.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, at the Zion United Baptist Church with Lonnie Ratliff officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
