INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
Eric Bowens, 46, of Tomahawk, was arrested Monday in Tomahawk on an indictment warrant. Deputy Justin Bellamy made the arrest.
Cody Spears, 29, of Lovely, was arrested Monday in Inez on an indictment warrant. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.
Robert Drenning, 38, of Beauty, was arrested Friday in Beauty on an indictment warrant. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Mary S. Setser, 53, of Auxier, was arrested Friday in Beauty for criminal trespassing, criminal littering, disorderly conduct, public intoxication controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy Justin Bellamy responded to a trespassing complaint. The caller stated he heard a woman yelling for help on the neighboring property. He also stated that his neighbor lived in another county and that no one was allowed on the property. The officer found Setser inside the abandoned residence. She allegedly said she had been sick, and that was why she was yelling for help earlier. According to the police report, Setser denied ownership of a “blue book bag,” but the deputy found her ID inside it. When he instructed her to pick up her belongings, she picked up the bag and tossed its contents over an embankment. During the transport she allegedly shouted “obscenities.”
Elizabeth Horn, 35, of Beauty, was arrested Saturday in Beauty for hindering prosecution. Horn was present at a residence where law enforcement executed an arrest warrant. “She lied repeatedly about him being there” before the owner of the house advised the suspect was in the house and had been eating dinner with Horn. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Lacy Scott, 57, of Lovely, was arrested Saturday on Riverfront Road on a bench warrant. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Crystal Wiley, 41, of Wilsondale, West Virginia, was arrested Friday on Rockcastle Road, Inez, for operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Marcus Thompson, 26, of Ulysses, was arrested Thursday in Inez for three bench warrants and two counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition (auto) $10,000-$1,000. Deputy Dennis Hall made the arrest.
Danny Jude, 35, of Beauty, was arrested Thursday on Route 40 in Inez for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and failure to maintain required insurance. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd responded to a caller saying Jude was leaving the government building intoxicated. The deputy observed Jude in his vehicle pulling onto Main Street. After sitting for a long time and rolling backward several times, Jude pulled onto the road and hit the center yellow line multiple times, Kidd said.
William Preece, 58, of Inez, was arrested Thursday at the Sheriff’s Office on an indictment warrant charging him with trafficking in marijuana 8 ounces to 5 pounds, wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and terroristic threatening. Kidd made the arrest.
Olen Hutchinson, 49, of Beauty, was arrested Thursday on Groundhog Hollow Road in Warfield for public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy Kidd was on the scene of an unrelated investigation and noticed Hutchinson had slurred speech and difficulty standing. Hutchinson allegedly stated he took gabapentin and various other medications.
Larry Patrick, 53, of Williamsburg, was arrested Aug. 6 on Route 40 in Inez for possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Officers were called to Ray Fields Park for a suspicious person. Sheriff Kirk arrived first at the scene and found Patrick sitting in his running vehicle. Deputy Kidd noted Patrick had a strong odor of marijuana on his person, glassy, bloodshot eyes, nervousness and trouble with his balance. Patrick allegedly pointed to a joint on the passenger seat and stated he had not smoked for a couple of hours.
Paul Brewer, 40, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Aug. 6 on Main Street in Inez on an indictment warrant charging him with bail jumping. Deputy Justin Bellamy made the arrest.
Joseph C. Jude, 43, of Lovely, was arrested Aug. 6 on Main Street in Inez on an indictment warrant charging him with bail jumping. Bellamy made the arrest.
Brittany D. Gilmore, 34, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 6 on Lafferty Lane in Inez for operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to produce an insurance card, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia.
Deputy Bellamy responded to Sheriff Kirk’s directive to serve an outstanding warrant on Shon Robinson, who the sheriff observed standing outside a residence on Main Street. While deputies were en route, the sheriff advised Robinson had left the residence with Gilmore in a red pickup truck. The sheriff followed the vehicle until deputies caught up.
Bellamy conducted a traffic stop on Gilmore at Lafferty Lane on Coldwater Road, where officers confiscated a loaded syringe containing a brown substance and various drug paraphernalia, including syringes, plastic baggies, glass narcotics straws and narcotics pipes.
Shon A. Robinson, 45, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 6 on Lafferty Lane in Inez on a warrant from Martin District Court. Deputy Bellamy made the arrest.
Garland R. Mills, 50, of Pilgrim, was arrested Aug. 6 on Jeff Jude Road in Pilgrim on a warrant from Martin Circuit Court.
