Gary Dean Mitchell
1952—2024

Gary Dean Mitchell, age 72, of Inez, passed away Aug. 5, 2024, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa.

He was born April 18, 1952, in Floyd County to the late Ernest Dean and Margeline Lambert Mitchell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Joan Slone.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Stepp Mitchell; one son, Michael Dean (Melanie) Mitchell of Inez; two brothers, Larry (Debbie) Mitchell and Tim (Jacki) Mitchell, both of Floyd County; and two sisters, Janice Hall and Rita (Ben) Sellards, both of Floyd County. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Zackary Tyler (Makayla) Mitchell and Caleb Wade Mitchell, and one great-grandchild, Katrina Danielle Mitchell.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, Inez, with Sammie Patrick officiating. Burial followed at the Stepp Cemetery on Poplar Fork. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
