INEZ — Martin County guard Peyton Davis has received an invite to the Midwest Academy MadeHoops Showcase in Louisville to take place on July 27 and 28.
“It’s awesome to be selected for the MADE event. The best in the country will be there,” Davis said. “I want to show the country what Martin County brings to the table.”
Davis has been putting in extra work this summer with Morehead State’s Brady Dingess and Cardinal teammate Parker Watts.
“I think I can compete with the big names that will be in Louisville. I plan to show them how aggressive I can be.”
The event will host Regional NAIA & D3 coaches with instructions and evaluations. Georgetown, Centre College, Transylvania, Campbellsville, and top scouts and media will be in attendance.
The top 50 players in every class from all over the state of Kentucky are selected for the showcase.
Davis is known for his heavy defensive presence on the court.
This summer, he has shown he is also a threat from behind the arc.
Peyton had three games this summer where he hit at least seven 3-pointers. He shot 56% from outside the line.
He’s garnered interest from multiple colleges and has received three official offers, with three more visits in his future.
Davis plays for the D&D Mountain Elite AAU team and played this past Saturday. He stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and four steals.
The senior averaged 8.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game this past season for the Cardinals.
