Comella Baisden
1949—2024

Comella Baisden, 74, of Dingess, West Virginia, passed away after a short illness Monday, July 15, 2024 at her home.

She was born Sept. 8, 1949 in Dingess to the late James W. Baisden and Gracie Messser Baisden.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Kenneth Wayne Gore; one sister, Nettie Jewell Newsome; and one niece, Miranda Johnson.

Comella’s children survive: James Allen (Denise) Williamson of Kermit, Johnny Robert (Christina) Hager of Dingess and Gracie Lynn Baisden of Jefferson City, Tennessee. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Zachary Williamson, Tyra Brown, Johnny Nick Hager, Breanna McCloud, MaKayla Collins, Laeshia Ingram, Andrea Gore and Matthew Hager; nine great-grandchildren, Edda Williamson, Averi New, Dax Williamson, Azara Ingram, Billie Williamson, Azaiden Ingram, Roselie McCloud, Tyler Gore and Josie Brown; and four siblings, Ethel Marcum, Alberta Vance, Virginia Bryant and Angela Willis.

Comella retired from the Mingo County Tax Assessors Office. She was of the Baptist faith and a breast cancer survivor.

Comella loved to travel and shop.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the House of Prayer in Dingess with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial was at the Dillon Prince Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
