INEZ — The Martin County Kiwanis Club is offering new members a 50% discount on annual dues in a bid to grow its membership.

Kiwanis President Melissa Phelps announced Thursday that new members can join the club for $50, a significant reduction from the usual $100 fee. The offer is valid until the end of 2024.

“We urge everyone to join and help improve the lives of children and families in our community,” said Phelps.

The club is dedicated to service projects within the county, focusing primarily on youth. Initiatives include Christmas food baskets and toy drives. To support their goals and fund scholarships for graduating seniors, the club sponsors events such as the Harvest Festival and the annual Hillbilly Breakfast. Additionally, they sell lemonade at various regional festivals.

The Kiwanis Club also supports youth programs by providing donations and fundraising opportunities through their lemonade booth and assisting with events.

The club is committed to raising awareness about key issues affecting children and the community.

Currently, Phelps and the Kiwanis Club are preparing for the annual Harvest Festival, set for Sept. 13-14 in downtown Inez.
