INEZ — Boxvana paid its occupational taxes up to date and supplied the Martin County Economic Development Authority with all but one document that the EDA demanded regarding a lease agreement between the two entities.

EDA chairman James Ayers announced in an April 20 board meeting that attorney Brian Cumbo received the last document April 18 and was awaiting Boxvana’s LLC operating agreement.

“On April 7, Boxvana filed and paid their occupational tax returns up to date, through the first quarter of this year,” Ayers said.

“At this point, there is one more document that we need to review prior to actually having an amended lease ready.”

Boxvana’s owner Harrison Langley, chief operating officer Nathan Upright, and several employees attended the meeting.

“Mr. Langley, we cannot tonight discuss the modification agreement with you,” said Ayers. “That has to go between our attorney and your attorney, as I’m sure you understand. However, I will give you an opportunity. We’re going to go into an executive session in a few minutes. It shouldn’t last long, but before we do that, I’ll give you an opportunity to speak.”
