SOMERSET — Martin County resident and local attorney Jaryd H. Crum has been elected to serve as a delegate to the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Crum was elected May 18 at the Republican Party of Kentucky’s 2024 State Convention in Somerset.

Crum, who also served as chairman of the Credentials Committee at the RPK’s State Convention, is one of only 46 delegates from Kentucky. He and his fellow Republican delegates from across the United States will select the Republican Party’s nominees for president and vice president.

“I am deeply honored to have earned the trust of my fellow Republicans and I look forward to serving the Commonwealth of Kentucky in Milwaukee,” Crum said. “Americans cannot afford another four years of Joe Biden and his failed policies that have made our country less safe and caused soaring levels of inflation. Americans, and specifically Kentuckians, deserve better, and I am eager to do my part each day to ensure we take back The White House.”

Crum has represented countless Eastern Kentuckians since he began practicing law in 2017 and serves as an assistant coach on the Martin County High School boys basketball team.

“I love Martin County and its people, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else,” said Crum. “Everywhere I go, I tell people about all we have to offer and insist on them visiting.”

Crum first got involved in politics while he was a student at Eastern Kentucky University and has since helped Republican candidates across the Commonwealth organize, strategize and raise funds.

In addition to his legal practice, Crum is also a founding partner of Square 1 Strategies LLC, a political consulting firm that serves as a one-stop shop for Republican candidates.

The Republican National Convention is scheduled to take place July 15-18 at Fiserv Forum.
