Clyde Ralph Messer
1959—2024

Clyde Ralph Messer, 65, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington.

Born June 3, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late John C. Messer and Columbia Bell Evans.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Richard Messer, Darrell Spaulding and Rick Newsome, sisters Freida Chaffins and Anita Chafin, niece Cassie Messer and a lady who was like a second mom, Eula Mae Chafin.

Clyde is survived by Pamela Chafin, daughter Deidre Messer; grandchildren Triniti, Derek and Eli; brothers Billy Howard Messer and Homer Charles Messer; sisters Connie Sue Messer, Anna Irene Stover and Sonja Chafin, a person who was like a second father Homer Chafin, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Riverbend Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday, June 20, 2024, with Greeneway Parsons and Kenneth Allen officiating. Burial was at the Chafin Cemetery on Lost Creek. Mullins Family Funeral Home of Warfield is honored to serve the family.
