INEZ – Coach Robin Newsome believes in the power of summer basketball. She took her team to Raceland last week and has a slew of games coming up in June.
The Lady Cards Varsity went 2-1 at the two-day round-robin camp. The ladies took down Greenup and Ironton.
The JV squad was 2-0 against Greenup and Glenwood.
Coach Robin Newsome is impressed with the performance thus far.
“We have great numbers out,” Newsome said. “The kids are working really hard with daily practices and summer games. I’m excited to see what this young group can do.”
Jim Clayton hosted a six-hour session June 3 and 4 at the high school with the team.
The girls were scheduled to play at Pikeville High School on Monday.
Games will take place Wednesday and Friday at the MCHS gymnasium.
The Cardinals will take to the road to attend camp at the University of the Cumberlands and Northern Kentucky University before the KHSAA dead period begins July 22.
