Ruth Gail (Edington) Smith
1949—2024

Ruth Gail (Edington) Smith, 74, went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2024.

Born Sept. 27, 1949, in Kermit, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mae Marcum.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Carl Leslie and Lil Joe Marcum.

Ruth attended Cornerstone Christian Center Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and a great friend to many.

Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Bruce Smith; two precious sons, Bradley (Kimberly) Edington of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Jeff (Kim) Smith of Kermit, West Virginia; loving daughters, Kimberly (Ronald) Spaulding of Kermit, West Virginia, and Rebecca Smith of Groveport, Ohio. She also leaves behind three precious grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart, Jack Edington and Jake Edgington, both of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Hannah Spaulding of Kermit, West Virginia; and her siblings, Eugene (Barbara) Marcum, Lewis (Margaret) Marcum, Lyle (Patty) Marcum, Darlene (Jerry) Messer, all of Kermit, West Virginia, Tennessee (John) Lawrence of Nitro, West Virginia, and Georgia Evenhouse of Romeo, Michigan.

Funeral services were conducted June 7, 2024, at the Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Eddie Smith, Eugene Marcum and John David Messer officiating. Burial was at the Smith Cemetery in Kermit. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
