George F. Baisden I
1955—2024

George F. Baisden I, age 68, of Genoa, West Virginia, passed away May 26, 2024, in Huntington, West Virginia.

Born July 2, 1955, in Williamson, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Golden and Jessie Hazel Kirk Baisden.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Jeremy Baisden; one daughter, Jessica Mae Baisden; one sister, Christine Evans; one grandchild, Baby B; and a nephew, Gregory Jude.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Maynard Baisden; three sons, George Baisden II, Benjamin Baisden and Joshua Baisden; two sisters, Zona (Mike) Weiners of Circleville, Ohio, and Shirley (Woody) Rutter of Fort Gay, West Virginia; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Danny and Tina Parsons. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Sundyna Baisden, Lucretia Baisden, and Xavier Baisden; two nieces who thought of him as their Poppy, Hailey Jude and Gabby Jude; Larry, who thought of him as a dad and Barbara Maynard of Fort Gay, West Virginia, both of whom he thought of as his own children; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

George was a member of the Church of Christ and a good Christian man. He loved playing music on his guitar and drums and enjoyed the game of chess.

George spent many years clearing right of way for the power company and loved the time he spent doing this.

His family and all who knew and loved him will dearly miss him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, Kentucky.
