Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Michael Dalton, 24, of Inez, was arrested Monday at Quail Hollow on a bench warrant. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.

Marlon Mollett, 36, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday in Inez on two bench warrants. Deputy David Reffett made the arrest.

Herbert Fletcher, 45, of Louisa, was arrested Friday at Blacklog in Inez on a warrant charging him with harassment physical contact. Kidd made the arrest.

William A. Mollett, 27, of Inez, was arrested Friday at Fields Cemetery in Inez for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and all-terrain vehicles violations. Sheriff Kirk conducted a traffic stop on Mollett, who was operating a side-by-side on Blacklog Road, and noticed the odor of alcoholic beverage on Mollett’s breath. According to the police report, Mollett’s Breathalyzer result was 0.171.

Aaryn Muncy, 19, of Pikeville, was arrested Thursday on Stepp Branch in Inez for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy Kidd was dispatched to Stepp Branch on a report of an intoxicated male and found Muncy there staggering in the roadway. The deputy noted Muncy had slurred speech, glassy, bloodshot eyes and difficulty standing. Muncy allegedly stated he had used marijuana. Law enforcement also served Muncy with an outstanding summons for theft by unlawful taking or disposition of bicycles.

Cody Spears, 33, of Lovely, was arrested May 22 on KY 292 in Lovely for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. Deputy Reffett was patrolling when he got behind a Dodge Caravan on KY 292. The deputy stated that Spears, the passenger, tossed a shotgun with the magazine from the moving vehicle. The gun was wrapped in a white sheet and was not loaded, the officer said. Spears allegedly pulled a baggie containing marijuana out of his pocket and laid it on the ground.

George W. Chapman, 33, of Warfield, was arrested May 22 on KY 292 in Lovely for fleeing or evading police, second degree (motor vehicle). Deputy Reffett got behind Chapman’s vehicle while patrolling on KY 292 and observed the passenger throwing a shotgun from the moving vehicle. The officer attempted to stop Chapman. He stated that Chapman passed two wide spots in the road where he could have pulled over but kept going for at least a mile before stopping.

Mary Setser, 53, of Auxier, was arrested May 22 on Bown Lane in Inez for public intoxication-controlled substance excludes alcohol, disorderly conduct and a bench warrant. Deputy Maynard made the arrest.

Jimmy Dale Maynard, 44, of Warfield, was arrested May 21 on Collins Creek in Warfield for a warrant charging him with assault fourth degree (domestic violence), minor injury. Deputy Bellamy made the arrest.

Scottie Thompson, 36, of Warfield, was arrested May 21 on Chaffins Cemetery Road in Warfield for operating on suspended or revoked operators, no registration plates, no registration receipt, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/security, and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. Sheriff Kirk observed Thompson operating a vehicle on Chaffins Cemetery Road and knew his license had been suspended. Thompson had an open bottle of Jagermeister inside his vehicle.
