INEZ — May 17 was a monumental day for senior Tate Crum. The offensive lineman signed to continue his football career with Kentucky Christian University as friends and family gathered around at Martin County High School.

The Cardinal began his football career when he fell in love with the sport in the third grade.

He has been protecting the quarterback for the Martin County Cardinals for four years.

When the time came for Crum to decide, he had some help from upstairs.

“I did a lot of praying about what college I should go to,” Crum said. “I felt like I was being led to go to KCU.”

He spoke highly of the Knights coaching staff.

“They made me feel like I would make an important addition to their team. They were all upfront and honest about the program, so I decided it was the right choice for me.”

Crum is the son of David and Angela Crum of Inez.
