INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
Samuel McCoy, 74, of Flatgap, was arrested Tuesday on Milo Road in Tomahawk for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substance.
Chief Deputy Chris Kidd was dispatched to South Milo for a vehicle in a ditch. The deputy said he found McCoy with slurred speech, difficulty maintaining balance and displaying glassy, bloodshot eyes. McCoy allegedly stated that he had drunk a lot the night before. When the officer asked McCoy to take a field sobriety test, McCoy allegedly said that he took Valium and gabapentin and drank a wine cooler before operating his vehicle.
Kevin Wright, 39, of Inez, was arrested Monday on KY-3 in Inez for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Deputy Kidd responded to a call about a man walking down the road “staggering all over the place.” The officer noted that Wright had difficulty standing, walking and keeping his balance. He also had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person and stated that he had drunk two or three 40-ounce beers.
Brandon James Elswick, 43, of Lexington, was arrested Monday in the courtroom in Inez on a warrant out of Fayette District Court. Deputy C. Linsday made the arrest.
Shawn David Moore, 44, of Inez, was arrested Sunday in Inez for a bench warrant out of Floyd District Court. Deputy David Reffett made the arrest.
Amanda Jarvis, 34, of Inez, was arrested Sunday in Inez for two bench warrants. Deputy Reffett made the arrest.
Michael Dalton, 45, of Inez, was arrested Sunday in Inez for bench warrants. Deputy Reffett made the arrest.
Shawn David Moore, 44, of Inez, was arrested Sunday in Inez for bench warrants. Deputy Reffett made the arrest.
Christopher Stacy, 52, of Pilgrim, was arrested Sunday for bench warrants for court. Deputy Reffett made the arrest.
Mary Ayers, 45, of Lovely, was arrested Sunday on Blue Jay Lane, Lovely, for two bench warrants, resisting arrest and third-degree assault on a police officer.
Deputy Reffett reported that Ayers tried to fight law enforcement officers and spit in their faces while they were serving bench warrants on her.
Michael Copley, 44, of Warfield, was arrested Sunday at Dempsey Housing for third-degree criminal mischief.
Deputy Reffett was dispatched on a call about a male pounding on the walls and trying to set his apartment on fire. When the deputy arrived at the scene he found Copley inside the apartment with a torch. The police report states that Copley had already torched the door facing and admitted to doing it.
Joseph Christopher Jude, 43, of Lovely, was arrested Saturday in Lovely for two bench warrants, drug paraphernalia, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, improper registration plate, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card, operating a vehicle with expired operator’s license.
Deputy Reffett stopped Jude on Route 292 and smelled marijuana coming from Jude’s vehicle. A search yielded three glass pipes, a bag of unused needles and 14 unidentified white pills in a bottle with no label.
Nicholas Bowen, 28, of Inez, was arrested Friday in Lovely for a bench warrant. Deputy Reffett made the arrest.
Dylan J. Johnson, 27, of Bevinsville, was arrested Thursday at the courthouse in Inez on an indictment warrant for first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others $1000-$10,000. Deputy Linsday made the arrest.
Jordan Ray Farmer, 30, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Route 40, Inez, for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Chief Deputy Chris Kidd responded to a call about an intoxicated person walking on Route 40. The deputy found Farmer beside the Homeplace Clinic with a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on him, slurred speech and trouble standing. According to the police report, Farmer stated that he had drunk five or six Natty Daddy.
