Wandell Parsons Obituary

Wandell Parsons

1936—2022

Wandell Parsons, age 86, left us to go home to be with the Lord and his loving wife April 20, 2022, at his home in Tomahawk.

He was born March 16, 1936, to the late Calvin and Gertrude Virginia Parsons. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, twins Edward and Ethel Parsons, Baby Parsons, Ernest Parsons, Alvin Parsons and George O’dell Parsons, and the love of his life, Elizabeth Fletcher Parsons.

He is survived by one brother, Cecil Parsons, one sister, Iness Perry, his five children, Kathy (James) Endicott, Danny (Tina) Parsons, Floyd (Teresa) Parsons, Luther (Lisa) Parsons and Dencie (Tony) Hatfield. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Jeffery Endicott, Alicia Smith, Michale Moore, Jennifer Wells, Danny Parsons Jr., Tabitha Parsons, Amanda Mahon, Tiffany Preece, Jamie Duty, Courtney Maynard, Mary Elizabeth Parsons, Abigail Staniford, Virginia Hatfield and Anthony Hatfield Jr., 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Wandell was a very hard working man that always made a way to provide for his family. He worked hard on his farm that he built with Lizzie, every year, tending a garden, gathering the harvest from it and the multiple fruit trees they had, keeping many freezers and a cellar stocked full of food. Wandell was never a lazy man and even at 86, still planted a garden, trimmed trees and did his weed eating.

Wandell will be greatly missed by his family and church family at Zion United Baptist Church (Pack Bottom) where he attended for over 40 years with his wife by his side. He is gone from us but back with his loving companion of 65 years.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23, 2022, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, with Lonnie Ratliff, Dennis Hughes and Jeffery Endicott officiating. Burial was at the Fletcher Cemetery in Tomahawk, under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
