INEZ — Brynn Smith was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond Monday, driving in four on two hits to lead Martin County past Buckhorn 18-1 at Cardinal Park.
Smith drove in runs on two doubles in the first.
Martin County grabbed an early lead scoring on a double by Bella Muncy, a single by Hannah Stacy, a single by Zoie Hinkle, an error, two doubles by Smith, a double and two singles by Hallie Mills, a single by Brittany Thompson, an error, and a single by Bailey Dials in the first inning.
Hinkle earned the victory in the circle for Martin County. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero.
Martin County had 15 hits in the game. Hinkle, Mills, Addison Duncan, Thompson, and Smith all managed multiple hits for Martin County. Hinkle led Martin County with three hits in three at bats.
Martin County didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hinkle had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
