Eden Elementary School Future Problem Solving Team clinched runner-up at the state competition, paving the way to the upcoming international contest.

The team, which includes students Peyton Crum, Paige Stafford, Skylin Fitch and Beckman Spaulding, has the opportunity to represent their school and the Martin County School District at the FPS International Conference. The event takes place June 5-9 on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington.

Eden academic coaches Chasity Crum, Lora Hale and Shayna Horn shepherded the team’s journey to this point. They guided the academic Wildcats to championships at District 116 in February and Region 29 in March.

Crum, who leads the FPS team, expressed her pride following the state competition.

“So very proud of my little team,” she stated. “They truly amaze me.”

Lora Hale shared similar sentiments about the team’s achievements.

“What a brilliant group of kiddos,” Hale commented. “These students have learned how to think about the future, define challenges, and create solutions to become decision-makers who solve today’s problems and those of the future.”

Shane Stafford, principal of Eden Elementary, stated the school is “bursting with pride” over the team’s achievements.
