PRESTONSBURG — April is Community College Month, celebrating these institutions’ role in shaping local communities and fostering career readiness. Big Sandy Community and Technical College kicks off the month with its Going Pro Signing Day honoring students and graduates embarking on professional careers.
In collaboration with Appalachian Tank, a local manufacturer specializing in aluminum tanks, BSCTC announced the signing of five new employees Tuesday. These individuals, recent graduates from BSCTC’s industrial maintenance program, will contribute their skills and expertise to Appalachian Tank’s workforce.
Neil Green, general manager of Appalachian Tank, expressed gratitude for the partnership with BSCTC.
“We have worked with BSCTC from day one,” Green said. “Partnerships like these are vital for a thriving business.”
Dr. King, BSCTC Provost, emphasized the institution’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of regional employers.
“This collaboration exemplifies why we exist – to provide skilled individuals who can readily contribute to our region’s workforce,” remarked Dr. King.
