LOVELY — A man was arrested Friday in Lovely for an alleged violent attack at a residence.
Trooper Tracy Salyer of the Kentucky State Police, together with Chief Deputy Chris Kidd of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended 43-year-old John Marcum at his home on KY-292, Lovely, around noon.
The arrest stemmed from a warrant obtained by Trooper Salyer, which accused Marcum of initiating a violent encounter at an unnamed victim’s home.
Armed with a black pipe, Marcum busted the front windows out of the residence and beat on the front door with the pipe, the warrant alleges.
The situation reportedly worsened when Marcum engaged in a physical altercation with the victim, resulting in injuries.
The arrest warrant details the victim sustained a swollen left eye and a cut on the side of his eyebrow.
The document also mentions an audio message in which Marcum allegedly brags about causing the facial injuries.
Marcum faces charges of fourth-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree terroristic threatening.
