Martin County High School senior Ashdon Kerr is one of only 20 students, out of a pool of 3,000 applicants, awarded the Otis A. Singletary Scholarship at the University of Kentucky.
This scholarship covers the cost of full tuition plus a housing stipend for the first two years.
Eligible applicants must have at least a 3.8 grade-point average and, if they took the ACT/SAT, a score of at least 33 or 1450.
As a Singletary Scholar, Kerr is admitted to the esteemed Lewis Honors College, which serves as a cornerstone for nurturing individual leadership capacities through a myriad of enriching opportunities. The Lewis Honors College prides itself on providing an enhanced course of instruction for outstanding, highly motivated students from all programs of study.
Kerr is the daughter of Jimmy Don and Amy Kerr of Inez.
