Douglas Williamson
1947—2024
Douglas Williamson, 76, of Crum, West Virginia, passed away Feb. 28, 2024, at the Heritage Center in Huntington after a long illness.
Born Oct. 20, 1947, in Crum, he was the son of the late Clifton and Veva (Hammond) Williamson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, the late Brenda Gail Williamson of Crum.
Douglas is survived by one daughter, Katrina Williamson Muncy, two grandchildren, Dustin Muncy of Proctorville, Ohio, and Brandy Pennington (TJ), of Crown City, Ohio, and two great-grandchildren, Gage Pennington and Reed Allen Pennington, both of Crown City, Ohio. He is also survived by one sibling, Rayburn Williamson of Kenova.
Douglas worked for Massey Energy and Alpha Natural Resources as a coal miner for over 30 years. He was a great family man and loved his family dearly. He had a natural sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. He would tell stories and play pranks on his family members, and everyone remembers our fun when he was around. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle to many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield, Kentucky, with Kenneth Allen officiating. Burial was at the Allen Family Cemetery in Crum. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
