INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:
Alicia Howard, 40, of Inez, was arrested Monday in Lovely on disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. Deputy Lauren O’Bryan reported that she made a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Howard was a passenger. The deputy says there was an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle, and the operator said there was a bottle of alcohol within their belongings. O’Bryan says Howard stated she had needles in her purse. O’Bryan began searching the vehicle when Howard ran to the passenger side and began grabbing stuff. The deputy cuffed Howard, who kept pulling away, screaming and cursing.

James Rod Nichols, 65, of Warfield, was arrested Thursday in Warfield on criminal littering.
