Roger Dale Maynard 

1954—2024

Roger Dale Maynard, 69, of Beauty, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 14, 2024, at the Three Rivers Medica Center in Louisa.

Born Dec. 1, 1954, in Mullins, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Truman and Opal Gilliam Maynard.

He was a former security guard for Family Federal Bank and was of the Baptist faith.

Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wooley Maynard, and brother, James Russell Maynard.

Survivors include his son, Aaron Thomas (Heather Woodard) Maynard of Live Oak, Florida, and daughter, Whitney Leigh (Johnathan) Hedrick of Tomahawk, as well as three grandchildren, Aaron Brock, Drake Arthur and Dixie Neheah Hedrick. Roger also leaves behind his siblings, Truman Maynard Jr of Inez, Carolyn (Randall) Sweeney of Beauty, Betty (Gary) Fletcher of Inez, Connie Maynard of Inez, and Sharon (Paul) Maynard of Union Town.

Dwayne Sweeney, Gary S. Fletcher, Ronnie Sweeney and Johnathan Hedrick were pallbearers.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Joe Mullins officiating. Burial was at the Fletcher-Maynard Cemetery on Little Lick Road, Inez. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
