NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — The Tug Valley Panthers dominated the Van Bulldogs 95-40 on Senior Night at the TVHS gym Thursday night.
The Panthers led 28-5 after the first quarter and 51-14 at the half.
Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson played several players as his squad continued their fine season and improved to 16-4.
Sophomore Carson Newsome continued his strong play, coming off the bench and leading Tug Valley with 19 points. Big Buddy Marcum, the only senior on the roster, was next with 16 points, while sophomore point guard Braydun Ferris chipped in 15.
Several Panthers got into the scoring book on the night. Brady Brewer scored nine points, Evan Bryant seven and Bryson Elia five. Others who scored were Derek Jewell with six, Preston May four, Ben Brumfield and Kaden Hale with three each, and Ashton Davis, Cam Slone, Jace Hale and Trent Hager all with two points.
Tug Valley was scheduled to make the drive to Tucker County and then to Westside in Wyoming County for its final two regular season games.
Gavin Branham had 14 to lead the Bulldogs in scoring.
