TOMAHAWK — A Tomahawk man was taken into custody Sunday morning after allegedly threatening to harm individuals at the Phillip Cove Church, according to Kentucky State Police Post 9.
Darrell Bowen, 51, was arrested following a 911 call reporting that Bowen was on his way to the church to “put everyone out of service.”
Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene, where witnesses identified Bowen, saying he had entered the premises but left after being asked to do so. They informed the officers that Bowen was a drug user.
After officers initially left the church to search for Bowen, they were informed that Bowen had returned to the scene.
Upon their return, law enforcement discovered Bowen lying under a truck, working on the truck. The police report notes Bowen appeared disoriented and was sweating excessively. It states Bowen exhibited signs of paranoia, claiming wolves were after him, and if he had to get them, he would. He allegedly talked about dead family members and a baby dying.
Bowen was arrested on a charge of public intoxication by a controlled substance, excluding alcohol.
