Fugitive apprehended in Louisa

LOUISA — A coordinated operation between the U.S. Marshals, Louisa Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest Tuesday of 50-year-old Danuell Marcum of Louisa on several charges.

The Louisa Police Department announced that Marcum was wanted on a fugitive from justice charge in Kentucky, along with two counts of controlled substance – manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver Schedule I, II or III substance in West Virginia.

The arrest concluded an intensive investigation aimed at locating and apprehending Marcum.

“Our agencies remain committed to working together to address criminal activity and uphold the rule of law,” said Greg Fugitt, chief of the Louisa Police Department. “The arrest of Danuell Marcum underscores our dedication to serving and protecting the residents of Louisa and Lawrence County.”

Marcum was lodged in the Big Sandy Region Detention Center where she awaits extradition to face charges in West Virginia as well as the charge in Kentucky.
