SHERMAN, W.Va. — For the second time in the last few days, the Tug Valley Panthers defeated regional foe Sherman in a road game Jan. 30 in Boone County.
Kaden Hale scored 21 points to lead four Panthers in double digits in the 66-55 victory over the Tide. Hale fired in five 3-pointers.
Ashton Davis added 15 points for TV, while Carson Newsome chipped in 13 and Bryson Eia 10. Elia dished out six assists. Brady Brewer scored four and Buddy Marcum three to round out the scoring for the Panthers.
Starting point guard Braydun Ferris missed the game due to the flu.
Tug Valley shot 40% from the floor including 6-17 from behind the arc for 36%. The Panthers were 10-12 at the free-throw line for 83%.
Bryce Mills led Sherman with 24 points.

NAUGATUCK, W.Va. — The Tug Valley Panthers clawed the visiting Man Hillbillies 97-51 in a game Jan. 31 in the TVHS gym.
The Panthers jumped out to a 56-27 lead by halftime and cruised in the second half with several players getting playing time for Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson.
Point guard Braydun Ferris, who was coming back from the flu bug, showed no signs of slowing down. He scored 11 points and dished out six assists in the first quarter to lead TVHS to its fast start.
Tug Valley had five players finish in double figures.
Ferris led the way for the Panthers with 16 points and dished out six assists. Carson Newsome added 16 points, continuing his fine play off the pines. Bryson Elia, Brady Brewer and Kaden Hale all scored 11 points each. Elia also dished out six assists. Evan Bryant added eight points, Buddy Marcum had seven points and six rebounds and Ashton Davis scored six. Jace Hale chipped in five points, Preston May had three, Ben Brumfield had two and Derek Jewell finished with one point.
Tug Valley shot 57% from the field and 47% from 3-point territory.
For the Man Hillbillies, Noah Frazier led the way with 15 points.
