Hatfield has worked as an executive in the healthcare industry for 28 years, with the majority of that time having been spent with Appalachian Regional Healthcare.

Hatfield spent 14 years overseeing physician-recruiting efforts to lure top talent to Eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia.
He also served as ARH’s executive legislative liaison and was appointed by former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin to a six-year board term with the Foundation for a Healthier Kentucky.
Hatfield obtained his B.B.A. from Pikeville College and his master’s in business administration from Morehead State University. He serves on several regional and community boards, including the Floyd County Homeless Shelter and One East Kentucky.
In his last position at ARH, Hatfield was CEO of the Big Sandy Region with oversight of five hospitals and more than 1,000 employees.
