INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
James McCoy, 52, of Pilgrim, was arrested Friday evening in Inez for violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO. He was also issued a citation for terroristic threatening. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd detained McCoy after he walked into the sheriff’s office, stating, “Walk over here. I will knock you out.”
Brian Shane Jude, 47, of Lovely, was arrested Friday in Lovely for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
The incident began when Deputy Chris Sesco was dispatched to the intersection of Locust Court and Riverfront Road in Lovely following a report of a two-car collision where no one was injured, but the driver had left the scene. Police later found the driver at Jude’s residence nearby.
The investigation revealed that Jude’s wife was behind the wheel during the accident. She had collided with another vehicle upon exiting the intersection. According to the police report, Jude falsely claimed to be the driver in an attempt to shield his wife, who lacks a driver’s license.
Deputy Sesco noted Jude was intoxicated and had allegedly admitted to consuming whiskey. Jude was taken into custody, while his wife, 39-year-old Beatrice Jude, was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.
Alisha Jude, 29, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 24 at Warfield Family Dollar in Warfield on a bench warrant. Deputy Alex Adams made the arrest.
Richard Faxon, 35, of Debord, was arrested Jan. 24 at the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy in Debord on a fugitive from another state warrant. Deputy Adams made the arrest.Brett Waller, 59, of Lovely, was arrested Jan. 23 on Riverfront Road in Lovely for two counts of violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO and one count of fleeing or evading police, second degree (on foot). Deputy Sesco went to a residence on Riverfront Road after receiving information that Waller was at the location in violation of an EPO/DVO. The deputy noted he had a previous incident with Waller at the same residence Oct. 29, 2023, but Waller managed to escape to the Tug River and swim across the state line to West Virginia.
