“January is School Board Recognition Month and I would like to express my appreciation to the members of the Martin County Board of Education and recognize them for their efforts and commitment to the students of Martin County. The Martin County community values a quality education as a vital step along the pathway to success for our students and our school board members are instrumental in this endeavor.
“Martin County school board members, Mickey McCoy (Chairman), Steven Gauze (Vice Chairman), Kathleen Price, James “Bowie Clark and Lorna Cassady, contribute greatly to our community through their service on the Martin County Board of Education. These decision-makers are responsible for maintaining strong, effective budgetary oversight, high standards for employment and a safe, well-managed set of school facilities. They provide leadership and governance to our local school district. All members of our board support our schools and serve our community with integrity and a commitment to our children’s futures.
“I would like to encourage all citizens of Martin County to honor and thank each of these individuals for their service to our students, teachers, staff and community.”
