1978—2023

Stephanie Danielle Stiles-May, 45, of Inez, passed away at Three Rivers Medical Center on the evening of Dec. 13, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Stephanie was born April 7, 1978, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa to the late Gary Wayne Stiles and Johnna Sue (Phelps) Stiles of Inez.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Michael May, and special friend, Tracy (Dalton) Horn.

Stephanie was a passionate and successful entrepreneur and businesswoman. She served as a florist, pharmacy technician, photographer, coach and community leader. She dedicated her life to improving her hometown and serving the youth of Martin County. She was highly dedicated to philanthropy and enhancing her town. She served as a member of the planning committee for Christmas in the Mountains, where she merged her love for Christmas and those in her community to create lasting memories and treasured moments.

Growing up, Stephanie was a cheerleader for the Sheldon Clark Cardinals and swimmer for the Martin County swim team, where she made many lasting relationships and sparked her love for sports. She continued her involvement into adulthood through her time as a cheer coach and by avidly supporting sporting events in the area. She could always be found at local games, cheering, encouraging and advocating for each and every child involved.

She enjoyed going on road trips with her close friends to partake in new adventures and visit scenic locations to snap a picture on the “Almost Heaven” swings. She also loved all things Snoopy and purple. Stephanie was a fiercely devoted wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her fun-loving, bubbly, selfless, and vibrant personality. To know her was to love her. Her memory and impact on others will outlive her for many years to come.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Charles Eric May; her mother, Johnna Sue (Phelps) Stiles; her daughters, Allison Faith Isaac and Kristen Hope Isaac; her sister, Lisa Marie (Rexford) Horton; her nieces, Kaitlyn Marie Williamson, Chelsea Nicole (Calib) Ball and Carrigan Reann Horton; her great-niece, Anistyn Skye Ball; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Ellis May and Madge Helen May; sister-in-law, Tammy (James) Jude; those who she thought of as her own, Karlea (Blake) Butcher and Sierra Dawson; best friends, Kristy Osborne, Samantha Maynard, Jacquie Fraley, Christy Wells, Cassie Moore and Roger Smith; and a host of other family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at Crum Funeral Home, Inez, with Casey Carver officiating. Burial was at Riverview Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
