WARFIELD — Reports of a trio smoking meth inside a white truck at Family Dollar in Warfield led to their arrest on various drug-related charges Thursday.

Martin County Sheriff John Kirk arrested Dingess, West Virginia, residents Marlo Vance, 68, Douglas Sparks, 54, and Lisa Baisden, 58.

Upon arrival at Family Dollar, the sheriff saw a meth pipe in the cupholder in Vance’s truck. A search led the sheriff to find a brown powder substance, which Vance allegedly identified as heroin, inside a black magnetic box in the driver’s side door. He also found  4.8 grams of a crystal substance in a bag in Vance’s pocket, alongside digital scales, small clear bags and a pipe.

Sheriff Kirk found Baisden inside the store with digital scales, a cut straw with residue, two glass pipes used for smoking meth, and a pill bottle containing seven Gabapentin pills in her purse.

Sparks was also inside the store with a small plastic bag containing less than 1 gram of methamphetamine and a blue glass pipe in his shirt pocket.

Vance is facing charges of importing heroin, possession of controlled substances (methamphetamine and heroin), and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession. Baisden and Sparks each have charges of drug paraphernalia/buy-possession and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
