MOREHEAD — Morehead State University honored approximately 400 graduates at ceremonies Dec. 9.
Graduates celebrated their academic accomplishments with family, friends, loved ones, faculty, staff, and members of the Eagle Nation, both past and present. It included congratulations from MSU President Dr. Jay Morgan.
The ceremony honored graduates of the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology, the College of Science, and the Ernst and Sara Lane Volgenau College of Education.
Isaiah Davis (Class of 2023) of Fort Worth, Texas, was the student speaker representing the Elmer R. Smith College of Business & Technology. As an MSU student-athlete, Davis was a starting wide receiver, kick returner, and special teams player for MSU Football and was part of the team’s Leadership Council. He plans to pursue a master’s degree, potentially a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
“Despite my story being my own, every student here has had their own story here at Morehead State. Their own set of challenges, their own set of trials, where they fought, persevered, and stayed patient and firm, even on the days when they felt they couldn’t any longer,” Davis said. “However, they did. Y’all did. You made it! And I’m so proud and respect every single one of y’all for your perseverance.”
