HINDMAN — Three Martin County athletes earned spots on the WYMT Food City Mountain Classic All-Tournament teams. Laken Williams of the Martin County Lady Cards and Luke Hale and Jacob Sturgell of the Martin County Cardinals were named to the teams for their performances in the tournament.

Williams contributed 17 points and secured four rebounds in the Lady Cards vs. North Laurel game Dec. 7 despite her team’s loss. She scored 32 points against Owsley County to lead the Lady Cards to a 76-72 consolation win Friday.

Hale scored 17 points in Martin County’s 54-48 win Dec. 4 over Knott County. He fired in 34 points Friday against Harlan County.

Sturgell scored six points against Knott County and 12 against Harlan County and grabbed seven rebounds to earn him the honor of being named to the all-tournament team.
