Billie Jean Preece Stacey

Billie Jean Preece Stacey, 76, of Inez, passed away Dec. 5, 2023, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Born June 28, 1947, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius “Pete” and Ollie Maynard Preece.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Preece; her second husband, Jerril Stacy; one son, Eugene Preece Jr.; one brother, Cornelius Pete Preece Jr.; and one sister, Roxie Jude.

Survivors include two sons, Christoper (Amanda) Preece of Russell and Rod (Angie) Stacey of South Carolina; two daughters, Bonnie Keaton of Inez and Jennifer (David) Freeman of Louisville; one brother, Hiawatha “Buck” Preece of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and two sisters, Mable Copley of Crestview Hills and Sheila Howell of Inez. Five grandchildren also survive her: Jack Michael “Jay” Evans, Ashley Nicole McPeek, Dominic Christian Smith, Caden Noah Preece and Matthew Stacey.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at the Union United Baptist Church, with Terry Harmon officiating. Burial was at the Cassady Cemetery on Coldwater. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
